Dr. Tanja Britton is a family physician who joined High Country Healthcare in February of 2008. She is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. Originally from Germany where she attended medical school, Dr. Britton came to the United States with her husband Mike who grew up in Colorado. After living in Indiana and in Colorado, they moved north and she completed her residency in family medicine in Anchorage, Alaska in 2002. Subsequently she spent several years working in various Alaskan urban and rural communities.
She left Alaska to obtain a diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from the University of Liverpool in England, and then spent several months in West Africa, working for a humanitarian organization.
Dr. Britton enjoys the entire spectrum of family medicine. Her special focus is on disease prevention and health maintenance and she is open to discussing and integrating alternative and complementary medicine. She is also very interested in the practice of travel medicine, is certified to provide yellow fever vaccine and is authorized to perform immigration physical examinations in the state of Colorado.
She enjoys the very vibrant communities of Summit County and looks forward to meeting you. She is able to communicate with you in English, German and French.
